Hames Engineering Ltd. would be pleased to have the opportunity to provide engineering and consulting services to your gas utility. We specialize in providing engineering services to Municipal Gas Utilities and Rural Gas Co-ops within Alberta. Hames Engineering offers the personalized service that larger companies struggle to deliver while keeping in mind the unique spirit of each utility.
Hames Engineering possesses experience in designing and constructing gas distribution pipelines, fuel gas lines, regulator metering and odourization stations, pressure isolation, pressure relief facilities and compressor facilities. Having all around expertise to perform every aspect of natural gas distribution engineering, Hames Engineering is equipped to complete the task with their experience and a keen interest in conducting network analysis for gas pipeline systems. Hames Engineering's proficiency in this field has allowed them to undertake the design of pipelines and pipeline facilities. By performing network modeling, pressure drops can be calculated, thereby identifying areas that would benefit from debottlenecking via pipeline upgrades. Hames Engineering is capable of performing such tasks in both brownfield and greenfield sites.
Hames Engineering can use various programs that perform pressure drop calculations as well as drafting programs such as Bentley MicroStation and AutoCAD. Our engineers possess high computer literacy and can use all computer programs with ease including but not limited to QGIS, GASWorkS, ArcMap, Microsoft Office, Visio, and Project.
The owner, Dustin Hames, was born and raised on a farm that was supplied by one of Alberta's Rural Gas Utilities and has given Dustin an understanding of the preferred business practices of such utilities. Growing up on a farm has instilled in Dustin a strong work ethic and mechanical aptitude which was learned by rising early to feed livestock, fixing all different types of machinery, and working long hours to complete the job. Being a part of a small community has taught him the importance of maintaining relationships through honesty and integrity, principles which he has carried over to the professional world in order to provide your utility the best service possible.
Hames Engineering is licensed by APEGA to practice engineering in Alberta.

Dean has a farming, ranching, and rural community background as well as experience in the oil and gas industry in both operations and in an EIT role. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, hockey, and the outdoors.
